If you have seen Brooke lately, the common comment is how chubby she is. We call her fatty, chubby, chunk, and we love it all. We rejoice in her chubbiness. Eric was a skinny baby often in the low percentiles of weight, I would get upset when people referred to him as skinny. With Brooke we delight in hearing how fat she is, aren't we strange?
She had her six month check-up today with Dr. J. she loves him!
Her head is 18" which puts her int he 99th percentile. This makes us happy, because the more her head grows, the less time she has to be in her helmet! To quote Chandler Bing, "Big Head, Big Head, Big Head"
Her height is 26.5" which puts her in the 78th percentile. She might be a tall girl!
Her weight is 17lbs 11oz. To give you some perspective, Eric was 19lbs 5oz at A YEAR OLD.
Jason said if she keeps staying this big, she will just sit on her brother when he gets out of line... ha ha. Watch out Eric. Or T.J. for that matter.
Other reasons we love this chubbiness:
When in the bath, I don't have to use a wash cloth to make her modest for photos, those thighs take care of it.
Rubber band wrists are awesome!
She has no neck which made is easy to hold her head up, as it is just perched on her body.
Her little toes look like they are about to pop off her fat little feet. Seriously, they look like they are going to blow!
Chub babies are extra squishy for cuddling.
Being so chubby she is no where near ready to crawl.. awesome! Less things to baby proof for now.
Some humorous other side effects:
Leggings are not a good look for her.
Her poor swing doesn't swing anymore, because there is too much weight.
So I hope you love her chub like we do!

adorable. Never had a chubby baby. Nothing to squish. 16 pounds at a year was always the goal. And you are right. They are crawling too soon and always called skinny. Keep on squishing that cutie.
